Schenectady County’s Independence Day Celebration

The Schenectady County Legislature is proud to announce the 2018 Schenectady County Independence Day Celebration at the Historic Mabee Farm in Rotterdam Junction. This FREE family music and fireworks celebration will feature the Schenectady County Orchestra and members of the Empire State Youth Orchestra CHIME program.

The celebration begins at 7:00pm with a performance by members of the Empire State Youth Orchestra CHIME program followed by a pops concert with the Schenectady Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Brett Wery. A Fireworks Spectacular will begin at dark (approximately 9:30pm).

On-site parking will open at 6:00pm. Parking is limited and not guaranteed so please arrive early.

Picnics are encouraged as limited food and beverage will be available for purchase. Please no glass bottles or containers and outside alcohol is not permitted.

This is a rain or shine event, but with delicate instruments being used the concert may be canceled in the event of heavy rain. Rain updates will be posted on the Schenectady County website and Facebook page and tweeted to all of our followers.

The celebration would not be possible without the support of our partners at the Schenectady County Historical Society and the Mabee Farm Historic Site as well as the Town of Rotterdam.
