A program of sweeping proportions (get it?)! The broom making industry was once a staple of the Mohawk Valley economy. In this living history program we will rekindle that spirit and make our own brooms. We’ll start in the fields and learn about growing broom corn. They’ll move on to the barn for a live demonstration of how brooms are made. They will then get down to work, fashioning their own pot-scrubbers to take home. Admission is $7 per child and adults are free; pre-registration required.
