Geology, Landscape, and the Iroquois Homeland with Dr. Chuck Ver Straeten, Geologist at NYS Museum

The bedrock of New York and its erosion created the landscape the Iroquois peoples made their home. It influenced their territorial boundaries, defenses, settlement patterns, trail systems, agriculture, and key natural resources. Chuck Ver Straeten is Curator of Sedimentary Rocks at the New York State Museum. He investigates the Devonian Period, c. 400 million years ago. $5 or free for SCHS members. No advanced tickets. Amanda, desperately seeking security for her children, especially Laura, finds a fragile hope in the form of Tom's work friend, Jim, a young man Laura knew in high school.
