From Here to There: The Future of Fashion in the Capital Region

Throughout the year, SCHS’ exhibition “Redesigning Fashion” has delved into the history of clothing and fashion in our community. We have examined how the past affects our present, and how fashion plays a role in creating identity. In her presentation Fatima will take us from the present to the future of fashion in the Capital Region.
Fatima Bey is a Dressmaker and Master seamstress from the capital region, specializing in bridal wear and alterations. She has earned several national and international awards for her wedding gown sewing. In addition to her 20+ year career in the bridal industry, Fatima has taught sewing on all levels for over 10 years. For the past 5 years, Fatima has served as an advisor for the Fashion Edition Institute, a Capital Region based organization which provides fashion professionals and entrepreneurs with career and business development coaching and mentoring.
