SCHS Gala Honoring Len Tantillo

With 2024 comes a new tradition: the first annual Schenectady County Historical Society Gala, honoring the work and contributions of renowned historical artist Len F. Tantillo. Mr. Tantillo’s impressive body of work comprises over 300 historical paintings and drawings. Many of his works are housed in prestigious collections around the United States. SCHS currently has two paintings of early Schenectady by Mr. Tantillo in our collections, and that number will grow in 2024; a donor recently commissioned Mr. Tantillo to paint a new work illustrating colonial Schenectady. Upon completion, the work will be donated to SCHS and prominently displayed in our museum galleries. The gala, a fundraiser dinner for SCHS, will take place on Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at 5:30pm in the Van Curler Ballroom at SUNY-Schenectady. Together, we’ll enjoy a delicious meal prepared by the talented students of the hospitality program, and accompanied by a selection of wines. Mr. Tantillo will discuss his forthcoming painting, and we may be treated to a sneak peek! We are grateful to have your support in making this new tradition a success! Honorary Committee: In joining the Honorary Committee, you’ll receive a ticket to the event, recognition in event promotional materials, and the opportunity to meet Mr. Tantillo.
