Join us throughout 2025 and 2026 as we delve into literature, biographies, and more that explore the American Revolution. We'll meet virtually each month to discuss a few chapters of the book at hand.
Twilight Nights are the perfect downtown spot for fun and holiday merriment. During Festival of Trees, SCHS will be open late with special evening hours on select two Fridays in December to allow visitors to view the beautiful and specially decorated trees after dark.
We'll learn how revelers of yore celebrated the season, enjoy colonial-era treats and stories by the Inn's fire, and make a craft to take home.
Schenectady’s Stockade is beautiful any time of year but the holidays always bring out a certain magic! In this walking tour we’ll explore the lights and sights of this historic district while learning the ways in which generations past celebrated the season.
Living historians will tempt your pallet and tickle your tastebuds with a trio of historic hot chocolates, including delicacies enjoyed by English kings and the middle-class settlers of the Mohawk and Hudson Valleys.

Part of SCHS' America at 250 project, this exhibition explores the story of Schenectady and Schenectadians during the American Revolution, weaving together different “threads” of the Revolutionary War-era. See the rare and significant 1771 Liberty Flag, carried by the Schenectady Minute Men during the Revolutionary War, alongside artifacts and documents that explore how Schenectadians contributed to and were shaped by the birth of our nation.
